Amphibolic pathway
Pathway involved in both catabolism and biosynthesis of carbohydrates, fatty acids, or amino acids.
A metabolic pathway that participates in both anabolic and catabolic processes. The tricarboxylic acid (Krebs) cycle is the classic example: it oxidizes acetyl-CoA for energy and also provides intermediates for biosynthesis.
