Lipoproteins

Complexes of lipids and proteins that transport and distribute lipids.

Spherical particles with hydrophilic surfaces (phospholipid, free cholesterol, apolipoproteins) and hydrophobic cores (triglycerides, cholesteryl esters). Classes include chylomicrons, VLDL, IDL, LDL, and HDL.
