Micelle
Stable aggregate of lipid molecules in equilibrium within an aqueous solution.
Mixed micelles formed during lipid digestion contain bile salts, free fatty acids, 2-monoacylglycerols, lysophospholipids, cholesterol, phytosterols, and fat-soluble vitamins, delivering lipids to the enterocyte brush border for absorption.
