Nutrition Intervention
Step 3 of the NCP: purposeful actions to resolve the etiology or manage the signs and symptoms of a nutrition diagnosis.
Intervention has two phases, planning and implementation, and is organized into five NCPT domains: (1) food and/or nutrient delivery, (2) nutrition education, (3) nutrition counseling, (4) coordination of nutrition care, and (5) population-based nutrition action. When the etiology cannot be modified, intervention focuses on reducing the signs and symptoms. The nutrition prescription is typically the centerpiece of the plan.
