Polysaccharides
Long chains of monosaccharide units, often numbering hundreds or thousands.
Storage polysaccharides (starch, glycogen) and structural polysaccharides (cellulose, hemicelluloses). Digestible polysaccharides yield monosaccharides; nondigestible ones contribute to dietary fiber.
