Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Credentialed food and nutrition professional qualified to deliver medical nutrition therapy and apply the Nutrition Care Process.

An RDN has completed an accredited dietetics curriculum, supervised practice, and passed the Commission on Dietetic Registration exam. RDNs are uniquely qualified to provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT), apply the NCP, write nutrition prescriptions, and increasingly hold order-writing privileges. They are the primary nutrition members of multidisciplinary care teams. Nutrition and Dietetic Technicians Registered (NDTRs) work under RDN supervision.
