Social Determinants of Health
The conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work, and age that shape their health outcomes.

Include income, education, housing, transportation, neighborhood safety, food access, social support, and discrimination. WHO highlights SDOH as the single largest driver of population-level health inequities. RDNs in community and clinical practice are expected to screen for SDOH and connect clients with resources (e.g., SNAP, WIC, food banks, Meals on Wheels).
